A young photographer navigating the world through a lens.
“Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things we see and everything to do with the way you see them” - Elliot Erwit
This couldn’t be more true. At the age of sixteen, Ashleigh Morris was given her first camera. From that moment on, everything became new, something to be explored and captured. While still at school, she started working for a small photographic company, predominantly covering equestrian events. A self taught (although she admits she was mostly lucky) photographer, she was accepted at Rhodes University and has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism. Photographing a wide range of subjects, she has had work published in Grocott’s Mail, Activate Newspaper (where she also worked as online sports editor), The Roodepoort Record and The Herald. In 2015 she was named the Sports Photographer of the Year at Grocott's Mail.
